After pursuing his undergraduate degree in journalism at University of Sao Paulo, Edson Soares' curiosity and passion for design and storytelling led him to France and later to New York, where he received his Masters at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunication Program (ITP).
As a designer, his work is focused on problem solving and the development of digital products. He has helped Flickr and Blue Man Group in their international operations, worked with startup companies in Brazil, and collaborated with brands such as Coca-Cola, Tim Telecom and Rede Globo.
As a filmmaker, he is the creator of the documentary "Sneakers - Stepping into the Urban Culture" (2008), premiered at Sao Paulo International Film Festival (Mostra Internacional de Cinema de São Paulo) and screened in different festivals in Brazil.
Apart from film, he experiments with the possibilities offered by new technologies to media and storytelling. Aiming at hacking the human behavior and broadening the experience of the audience and the tech user, he has created experiences in the form of 360º video, installations and performances in the public space.
"I consider myself an incomplete designer, an unlabeled artist, a searcher at large. I enjoy working at the gap between imagination and making."
